A World away from a Pro Triathlete…
It has been far too long since I last wrote on my blog…
There has been A LOT going on and it’s all been quite far removed from my life as a Professional Triathlete!
I’m now 18 weeks pregnant with our first child. It was the plan for this year, and we’re both really happy and excited to be parents-to-be!
This is my first scan at 10 weeks…
Me with the first signs of a bump at 14 weeks…
And just this week at 18 weeks…Practicing the areo position!!
It’s such a big adventure and so “different” to be carrying a baby…Priorities change…perspective changes…For the first time in a really long time I’ve properly slowed down. I’m much more relaxed and in not such a big hurry anymore. Except when the hormones kick in!:)
The first trimester wasn’t all that different to being a Pro athlete- always tired- pretty grumpy- nana naps- voracious appetite and cravings for junk! Doing any kind of training was hard, but made me feel a whole lot better.
The 2nd trimester has been fantastic in comparison. I’m more at home with the idea of someone growing in my belly…and energy has come back. “Training” I feel its more like exercise, is much more regular- 30-45 mins a day. If I do too much I feel absolutely whacked! The thought of a long drawn-out labor is motivating me to keep fit! Plus the thought of turning into a beached whale:)
Hopefully this is the start of my blogging again.
Thanks for reading!
