Nike Speed Spider Review
This little beauty is the Nike Speed Spider.
Only 140 gs!!! That’s less than 5 ounces.
It’s a lightweight low profile neutral racing shoe. It’s got the zoom air cushioning in the heel, and the new flywire upper- the same material as the Lunar Racer. With aggressive fore foot traction…
I’ve been doing my speed work in these puppies. They are great for short runs at tempo. But as soon as you jog in them they are horrible. Built for speed only! You just can’t help but run fast in them- they’re just a wafer! Also amazing on wet roads since the soles are so incredibly grippy. So they corner really well.
I would definitely recommend them for racing up to 10kms. If you were running a half marathon I think it would be OK- but maybe not off the bike though. Not for most of us anyway. Because they’re great when you’re running quick on your forefoot, but not for when you get tired and form starts to go. If you like racing flats give them a go, I love them.
